All-Consuming Zeal (3/3)

When is the last time you've been overtaken by zeal? How often are you swept up in the throes of passion for a cause you believe in?

I gotta say, for me, it doesn't happen all that much. Honestly, it takes me a minute to consider what could or would move me to such zealous expression.

But our texts this week point to what is most important to God. And we glimpse in the life of Jesus what happens when what is important to God gets misused, abused, and perverted for human purposes.

My prayer for us: Holy God, give us a zeal for You and Your kingdom that ignites in us a meaningful life, so that You might shine in and through everything we think, say, and do. Keep the fire of Your Spirit lit within us from now until forever. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
